I love to have deep conversations with clients about who they are and what is meaningful to them. I believe that therapy is most helpful if we welcome in all parts of you, including your identities, your background, your values, and dreams.
Although I provide individual therapy, individual change always occurs within the context of our communities and the sociopolitical environment around us. In fact, it is not uncommon for us to find that the problem at hand is not necessarily a "you problem," but instead reflective of an unhealthy system around you. Let's bring all of the pieces into the room so we can sort out how you and your goals fit into your specific context.
Trauma Work
When we walk through painful moments together, they become less scary. You don't have to carry it alone, and together we can find your way forward. I have led groups for survivors of sexual assault and relational violence for years, and found it to be some of my most meaningful work.
Balancing Cultures
As someone who lived in South America for two years and worked extensively with international clients, I thrive in discussions about identity and background. Are you a second-generation immigrant trying to live out your family values while carving your own path? Do you have a family that represents and honors multiple cultures? Let's talk.
